The West Park Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Lincoln on the road by a decisive 67-53 margin. West Park has not had much luck with Lincoln recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Annalyse Braden, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Lynae White was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Lincoln got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maya Hodge out in front who scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hodge has scored at least a third of Lincoln's points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hodge, who scored 16 points.
West Park has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Lincoln, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Park will take on Nevada Union at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Placer at 7:30 p.m. Placer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Lincoln is ranked 168th).
