The Pittsburg Pirates's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They really took it to Deer Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-25 victory at home. That's another feather in the cap for Pittsburg, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Ali Tautolo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Fonologoua, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Pittsburg's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. As for Deer Valley, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pittsburg will play host again and welcome Freedom, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deer Valley, they will be playing at home against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Deer Valley likes a good challenge.
