The Dublin Gaels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 59-34 walloping at the hands of California. While losing is never fun, Dublin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Grizzlies are ranked 43rd).
Lauren Yee continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for California, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yee has scored all season. Trinity Chu was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five steals.
Dublin has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. As for California, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dublin will take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dougherty Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses. As for California, they will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
