With a playoff game on the line, the Whittier Cardinals rose to the challenge on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-34 victory over the C-Hawks. Winning may never get old, but Whittier sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
California Lutheran's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Julia Ash, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds, and Allison Schroeder who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Whittier's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-17. As for California Lutheran, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-3.
Whittier's road trip will continue as they head out to face San Jacinto at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. San Jacinto knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Whittier likes a good challenge. California Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
