Baseball Recap: Campbell Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Campbell's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Hillgrove Hawks on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost three in a row.

Max Lopez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Campbell's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Hillgrove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

While Campbell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
