Defeat or not, Millville got some senior leadership from Evans and Olivia Kile. Evans almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, while Kile posted seven points and three steals. Evans is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 42 games she's played dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Meadowbrook Christian's strategy against Northumberland Christian on Friday. Meadowbrook Christian took down Northumberland Christian 35-18. Meadowbrook Christian hasn't had any issues with Northumberland Christian recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Millville better keep an eye on Fasnacht. She was instrumental in Meadowbrook Christian's win, putting up 14 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. That makes it 19 consecutive games in which Fasnacht has scored at least a third of Meadowbrook Christian's points. Hannah Millett was another key player, earning seven points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Meadowbrook Christian's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Millville, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Millville has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Meadowbrook Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.6 rebounds.
