The United Lions have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 47-33 fall against Penns Manor on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points United has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, United had strong showings from Maddison McGinnis, who scored ten points along with three steals, and Delaney Perrone, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Lilly McGinnis, who scored six points.
Penns Manor's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Summer Fennell, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fennell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Stiteler, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
United's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Penns Manor, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 20-3.
United will look to defend their home court on Monday against Punxsutawney at 6:00 p.m. United is coming into the game with four straight defeats at home, meaning Punxsutawney will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Penns Manor, they will square off against River Valley at TBD on Friday. River Valley is coming into the match with seven straight victories on the road, so Penns Manor is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
