The Ventura Cougars will challenge the Pacifica Tritons at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Ventura took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Moorpark by a score of 5-2.
Ventura got a great performance from Brandon Hardy as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trevor Woodworth, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Anden Aguailar, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pacifica ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Camarillo 8-6. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Dario Navarro was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Riley Ortega was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Pacifica kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Ventura's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Pacifica, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
