The Victory Christian Academy Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Gompers Prep Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Victory Christian Academy will be strutting in after a win while Gompers Prep Academy will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Victory Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over High Tech Mesa, taking the game 10-7. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly three runs.

Max Gardner made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Levi Wallace was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Bulatao, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Ocean View Christian hit Gompers Prep Academy with a ten-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 14-8 to the Patriots. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Like Victory Christian Academy, Gompers Prep Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Angel Yanez. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Yanez was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Nathaniel Ramirez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those runs were his first of the season.
Victory Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Gompers Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Gompers Prep Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Victory Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. It's a different story for Gompers Prep Academy, though, as they've only averaged .183. Will they be able to contain Victory Christian Academy's hitters?
