Sachse is 7-0 against South Garland since November of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sachse Mustangs will be playing at home against the South Garland Titans at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sachse has five straight victories, South Garland has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Sachse gave up the first points last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Garland 57-24 on the road. The result was nothing new for Sachse, who have now won four matches by 24 points or more so far this season.
Brenden George continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 52 yards and four touchdowns, while also throwing for 200 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendon Haygood, who rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Meanwhile, South Garland pushed their score all the way to 34 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 39-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Naaman Forest.
Sachse's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-2. Even more impressive is the teams they beat to make that streak: Garland, Wylie East, and Lakeview Centennial. As for South Garland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Sachse against South Garland when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 51-12 win. Does Sachse have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Garland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
