The Notre Dame Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Regents. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 57-45 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
The Tigers lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sammy Kakala, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Juila Oliveira-Killmon, who scored ten points.
The Tigers dropped their record down to 9-9 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for the Regents, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Gryphons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (the Gryphons are ranked 416th, while the Tigers are ranked 422nd). As for the Regents, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers know how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the Regents like a good challenge.
