The Shelton Chargers won against the Pantego Christian Panthers on Thursday with 58 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Shelton managed a 58-53 win over Pantego Christian. The win was familiar territory for Shelton who now have five in a row.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shane Williams, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Williams hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Jamerson Green was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
Shelton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Pantego Christian, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 9-5.
Shelton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Covenant Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Covenant Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Shelton in Texas (Covenant Christian is ranked 357th, while Shelton is ranked 743rd). Pantego Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Trinity Christian at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
