There's no place like home for Hale Center, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Springlake-Earth Wolverines on Monday. While the Owls didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cesar Pina and Fernando Pina were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Pina tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Fernando pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Pina scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Fernando scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Hale Center's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Springlake-Earth, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Hale Center will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sudan at 5:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Springlake-Earth, they will host O'Donnell at 5:00 p.m. on March 17th.
