Russell's loss came despite strong showings from Caleb Rimmer and Gabe Pridemore. Rimmer dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Pridemore scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Rimmer's third in a row with at least ten points. Noah Quinn was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Russell now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Newport Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
