It was a good run, but the Hoover Cardinals unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Escondido Charter by a score of 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Hoover had strong showings from Myesha Frank, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Jewel Parker, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Parker has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. It was another big night for Kami Gillis, who went 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 2 assists for Escondido Charter. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gillis has scored all season. Cc Goss was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
