Apple Valley Christian has not had much luck with Academy of Careers & Exploration recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Academy of Careers & Exploration found their leader in underclassman Sarah Powell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Powell has scored at least 25% of Academy of Careers & Exploration's points. Bethany White was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Apple Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Academy of Careers & Exploration, their victory bumped their record up to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apple Valley Christian will challenge Lucerne Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Academy of Careers & Exploration won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Baker at 5:00 p.m. on December 14th. Baker's defense has only allowed 16.6 points per game this season, so Academy of Careers & Exploration's offense will have their work cut out for Academy of Careers & Exploration.
