The St. Francis Troubadours will head out on the road to face off against the Patterson Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
St. Francis entered their tilt with Pleasant Grove with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. St. Francis claimed a resounding 64-27 victory over Pleasant Grove at home. St. Francis pushed the score to 59-18 by the end of the third, a deficit Pleasant Grove cut but never quite recovered from.
Bria McGahan was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of St. Francis' points. Another player making a difference was Sydney Teoh, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Patterson stacked a 16th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Golden Valley 53-13 at home. Given Patterson's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Golden Valley is ranked 1064th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Patterson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Mason, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Mason is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Siena Musson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
St. Francis now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Patterson, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. St. Francis hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.4 points per game. However, it's not like Patterson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56 points per game.
