On Saturday, St. Paul greeted the New Year with with a 58-39 win over Walnut.
Despite the loss, Walnut had strong showings from Claire Olia, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Maileeh Suasti, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Suasti's 11th in a row with at least ten points.
St. Paul now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Walnut, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.
St. Paul will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Montgomery will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Walnut will take on Rowland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rowland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
