Grant has gone 8-2 against Burbank recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Grant Pacers will look to defend their home field against the Burbank Titans at 6:00 p.m. Grant has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
If Grant beats Burbank with 12 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Grant sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over Foothill on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Pacers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Adan Rincon and Niko Hernandez did most of the damage at the plate: Rincon scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Hernandez went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Hernandez has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ronald Carmon, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Grant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Burbank suffered their closest loss since March 19, 2024 last Thursday. They fell just short of Destiny Christian Academy by a score of 7-5.
Kevion Duplessis and Devin Johnson did some serious damage despite the final result: Duplessis scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Johnson scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-4. Duplessis is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Grant pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Burbank, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Grant has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Burbank struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Grant might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Burbank when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Grant have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
