When it comes to explaining why Smethport lost, one person who can't be blamed is Elizabeth Hungiville. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Hungiville is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Smethport struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Smethport has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Ridgway, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Smethport will head out on the road to challenge Austin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ridgway won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Brockway at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. Brockway will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 485th, while Ridgway is ranked 87th).
