Basketball Recap: Clarion-Limestone Piles Up the Points Against Calvary Baptist Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clarion-Limestone). They breezed by the Calvary Baptist Christian Academy Chargers to the tune of 68-14 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Clarion-Limestone found their leader in sophomore Hannah Beggs, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for Beggs. Julianna Schwabenbauer was another key player, going 5 for 6 on her way to 10 points.

Clarion-Limestone smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Clarion-Limestone's victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Clarion-Limestone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-46 win against Commodore Perry on the 28th. As for Calvary Baptist Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Saegertown at 1:00 p.m. on January 18, 2025.
