The Upper Perkiomen Indians's six-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They walked away with a 58-47 victory over MAST Community Charter. The win was just what Upper Perkiomen needed coming off of a 54-34 defeat in their prior contest.
Upper Perkiomen had a senior duo take command as Erin States scored 17 points and Carly Heiser scored 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which States has scored at least 25% of Upper Perkiomen's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Kearney, who scored eight points.
Upper Perkiomen's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for MAST Community Charter, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-9 record last season and are now at 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Upper Perkiomen and Pottsgrove will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Pottsgrove is ranked 526th, while Upper Perkiomen is ranked 551st). As for MAST Community Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Dock Mennonite at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dock Mennonite and MAST Community Charter are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
