Baseball Recap: Leigh Has No Trouble Against Santa Teresa

Leigh not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 4th (when they won 11-1). Everything went their way against the Santa Teresa Saints as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Marcus Glanville spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits.

At the plate, Justin Jeong was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Mogannam, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Leigh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Teresa only managed seven hits.

Leigh's record now sits at 17-4. As for Santa Teresa, they dropped their record down to 9-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Leigh will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Saints: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
