The Durham Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Colusa RedHawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Durham sitting on four straight victories and Colusa on seven.
Durham posted their biggest victory since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They breezed by Paradise at home to the tune of 70-39.
Durham relied on the efforts of Karla Rangel, who scored 17 points, and Payton Santos, who scored 22 points. Santos hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Pezzetti, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Colusa at home against Live Oak on Friday as the team secured a 53-20 win. Given Colusa's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while Live Oak is ranked 1167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Durham has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Colusa, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.
Durham didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Colusa in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 34-30 victory. Will Durham repeat their success, or does Colusa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
