The Rancho Christian Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Mary's Academy Belles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Rancho Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games.
Rancho Christian put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They really took it to Bishop's for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-39 win on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 55-16.
Rancho Christian found their leader in underclassman Ebony Taylor-smith, who scored 24 points along with three steals. Taylor-smith has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyson Boyd, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's Academy came up short against the Lancers on Thursday and fell 54-41.
Rancho Christian's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.2 points per game. As for St. Mary's Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.
