Baseball Recap: Monache Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Monache came out on top against Independence on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Marauders took their matchup against the Falcons 8-4. The Marauders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Adam Guerrero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brandon Correa, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lewis Green, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Monache has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Independence, they dropped their record down to 10-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Monache has already played their next contest, a 4-3 win against Arvin on the 15th. As for Independence, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-1 victory against Tulare Union on the 16th.
