Make it nine blowout wins for the Marshall Eagles this season. They breezed by Mountain View at home to the tune of 55-10. The victory was nothing new for Marshall as they're now sitting on five straight.
Marshall was led to victory by Destiny Ihiaso and Kaitlan Sakuma. Ihiaso scored ten points along with five rebounds, while Sakuma scored nine points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Degooyer, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Marshall's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Mountain View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall will face off against Gabrielino at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gabrielino has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Mountain View, they will head out on the road to take on Rosemead at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
