Softball Recap: Seckinger Wins Going Away Against Roswell

Seckinger owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Roswell Hornets with a sharp 8-0 win. Considering the Jaguars have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Megan Whitt, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Milan Torres, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Seckinger hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 10-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Seckinger is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Roswell, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Seckinger will head out to take on East Forsyth at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Roswell, they will face off against St. Francis at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
