The McFarland Cougars will be playing at home against the Farmersville Aztecs at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.
Last Tuesday, McFarland sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Delano. Two seems to be a good number for McFarland as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Sophia Cruz and
Marcela Barajas, who scored both of McFarland's goals. The pair have combined for a total of ten so far this season.
Meanwhile, Farmersville kept a clean sheet against Wonderful College Prep Academy on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Wolves out 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Farmersville.
McFarland's win bumped their record up to 13-10-5. As for Farmersville, their win bumped their record up to 8-14-3.
McFarland took their win against Farmersville in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 4-1. Will McFarland repeat their success, or does Farmersville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
