On Wednesday, Friendship Collegiate Academy faced KIPP College Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Friendship Collegiate Academy was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to KIPP College Prep. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Friendship Tech Prep Academy put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They put the hurt on Glenelg Country with a sharp 72-51 win. Given Friendship Tech Prep Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked seventh in District of Columbia, while Glenelg Country is ranked 94th in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
David Bumpass continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Bumpass, who scored 14 points.
Friendship Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Friendship Tech Prep Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
