The Kern Valley Broncs will head out on the road to challenge the Boron Bobcats at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Kern Valley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Mammoth on Tuesday. The Broncs blew past the Huskies 15-3. The Broncs haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Jackson Price made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Kern Valley is 4-2 when Price allows three or fewer earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Price was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

In other batting news, Kern Valley got a massive performance out of Blake Baughman, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave Baughman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Owinn Liske, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Boron got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. Everything went their way against Desert as they made off with a 17-1 win. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 12 runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Geordyn Rundblade, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Boron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Kern Valley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Boron, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kern Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Boron struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Kern Valley might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Boron in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Broncs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
