Shelton has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Harvard Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Shelton is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Harvard in Nebraska (Shelton is ranked 78th, while Harvard is ranked 282nd).
Shelton can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Silver Lake as Shelton made off with a 55-32 win.
Meanwhile, sadly, Harvard is still looking for their first win of the season after 18 matches. They fell 45-35 to Lawrence-Nelson on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Harvard in their matchups with Lawrence-Nelson: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite their defeat, Harvard saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tabi Forney, who scored 13 points along with seven steals, was perhaps the best of all. Forney is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Taylor Braun was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Shelton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Harvard, their defeat was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-18.
Everything came up roses for Shelton against Harvard in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 90-12 win. With Shelton ahead 55-4 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
