The Jefferson-Morgan Rockets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by McGuffey 60-19. Jefferson-Morgan has not had much luck with McGuffey recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
McGuffey's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Schumacher, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Schumacher is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Gaso, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Jefferson-Morgan bumped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for McGuffey, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
Jefferson-Morgan will look to defend their home court on Monday against Monessen at 6:00 p.m. As for McGuffey, they will head out on the road to challenge South Park at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
