The Sidney Red Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Alliance Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sidney is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Sidney's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 46-0 win over Chase County. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 20 points or more this season.
The critical scores for Sidney came from Carter Lipska, Keian Kaiser, Keair Scott, Kyle Jaggers, Kale Kaiser, Alek Doty, and Rhys Dorcey.
Sidney didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Chase County to a completion percentage of just 28.6%. The Red Raiders have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.59 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.59 in their last three games.
Meanwhile, Alliance fell victim to Chadron and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Cardinals, falling 41-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost seven in a row.
Even if they lost, Alliance's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ethan Schulze, Jett Childers, and Nason Thompson, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Chadron's side was Caysen Robertson, who made 19 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Alliance now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Sidney, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Sidney has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 223 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Alliance struggles in that department as they've been averaging 236 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Sidney against Alliance when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-14 win. In that game, the Red Raiders amassed a halftime lead of 41-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
