The Millersburg Indians have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Upper Dauphin Area. If Millersburg hoped to take revenge for the 48-35 loss against they when the teams met on Tuesday, then they were left disappointed.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Miller, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Miller has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 16 times she's played. Jana Strait was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Upper Dauphin Area to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gracie Griffiths, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Reagan Wentzel, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Millersburg's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Upper Dauphin Area, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millersburg won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Line Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Line Mountain will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 550th, while Millersburg is ranked 240th). As for Upper Dauphin Area, they will head out on the road to take on Halifax at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
