If the St. Lucy's Regents were riding high off their 51-21 takedown of the Pomona Catholic Pacers on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. St. Lucy's took a hard 43-26 fall against St. Genevieve on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Lucy's has scored all season.
Several Regents players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Danika Mejico, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. Mejico scored a full 30.8% of St. Lucy's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kate Campbell, who scored four points.
St. Lucy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for St. Genevieve, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
St. Lucy's won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pomona at 5:00 p.m. on December 14th. Pomona is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Genevieve, they will head out on the road to face off against Avalon at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
