The St. Mary's Ryken Knights entered their tilt with the Bishop Ireton Cardinals with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. St. Mary's Ryken really took it to Bishop Ireton for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-24 win on the road. With St. Mary's Ryken ahead 35-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Bishop Ireton's loss on Saturday came despite strong showings from Omar Diallo and Aaron Rocke. Diallo rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, while Rocke gained 143 total yards and two touchdowns. Diallo was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
St. Mary's Ryken's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-5. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.67 points. As for Bishop Ireton, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.
St. Mary's Ryken will take on Paul VI at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Paul VI is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Bishop Ireton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
