Basketball Game Preview: Fivay Falcons vs. River Ridge Royal Knights

Fivay is 9-1 against River Ridge since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Fivay Falcons will welcome the River Ridge Royal Knights at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Fivay was fully in charge, breezing past Angeline Academy of Innovation 83-22. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 33 points or more this season.

Fivay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Odell Brown, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points along with eight boards and three steals. Those three steals gave Brown a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Brown, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points and three steals.

Fivay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Meanwhile, River Ridge suffered their biggest loss since December 3, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against Mitchell, falling 94-72. The Royal Knights haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Fivay has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 47 points. As for River Ridge, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Everything came up roses for Fivay against River Ridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 90-52 victory. Does Fivay have another victory up their sleeve, or will River Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
