It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Arleta Mustangs had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 52-31 margin over the Rams. Arleta has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Aaliyah Serpas, who scored 19 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Justine Mejia, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and seven steals.
The victory was the seventh in a row for Arleta, bringing their record for this year to 19-10. As for South Gate, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
Arleta will face off against Los Angeles CES at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arleta is coming into the contest with six straight wins on the road, meaning Los Angeles CES will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. South Gate does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
