Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). Everything went their way against the Lowry Buckaroos on Saturday as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The Spartans not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12, 2025 (when they won 19-6).
Sebastian Ojeda made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Ojeda was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2025.
In other batting news, Freddy Terrazas was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Carrillo, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
