Basketball Recap: Valley View Wins Going Away Against Paloma Valley

After losing to Paloma Valley the last time they met, Valley View decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Valley View Eagles put the hurt on the Paloma Valley Wildcats with a sharp 59-33 win on Thursday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Tiana Washington continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5 for 8 on her way to 12 points and eight steals. Mason Long was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Valley View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.

Valley View's record now sits at 12-10. As for Paloma Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Valley View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-51 victory against Apple Valley on the 18th. As for Paloma Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.6 points per game this season.
