Duarte can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. Everything went their way against Azusa as Duarte made off with a 33-13 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Duarte has posted against Azusa since February 3, 2020.
Meanwhile, Sierra Vista scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Workman 73-22 on the road. That 51 points margin sets a new team best for Sierra Vista this season.
Sierra Vista found their leader in underclassman Cailei Buna, who dropped a triple-double on 30 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Haro, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds.
The victory got Duarte back to even at 7-7. As for Sierra Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.
