Softball Recap: Lincoln East Has No Trouble Against Omaha South

While Lincoln East put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Omaha South. The Spartans blew past the Packers 12-0. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by eight runs or more this season.

Savannah Stahly looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lincoln East got a massive performance out of Addison Bliemeister, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Bliemeister has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Paetyn Sandy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Lincoln East hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive matchups.

Lincoln East has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Omaha South, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-13.

Looking ahead, Lincoln East will challenge Papillion-LaVista at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Monarchs have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. Omaha South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
