The Mar Vista Mariners lost against the Sweetwater Red Devils back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mar Vista was the victim of a rough 45-25 loss at the hands of the Red Devils.
Several Mariners players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Allyson Bell, who scored eight points. Nikki Martin was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Mar Vista has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Sweetwater, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-11.
Mar Vista will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. As for Sweetwater, they will play host again and welcome the Spartans, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Chula Vista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
