The Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past College Park with points to spare, taking the game 51-37. That's another feather in the cap for Clayton Valley Charter, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Clayton Valley Charter found their leader in underclassman Ella Scott, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Scott continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Surney, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, College Park saw an underclassman step up: Taylor Ochoa scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That was a full 48.6% of College Park's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Clayton Valley Charter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for College Park, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clayton Valley Charter will take on the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northgate has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for College Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Benicia is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses.
