Ripley won the last time they faced Nitro and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wildcats 2-1.

Ripley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-9, 15-8.

Tiffany Fisher paced Ripley's offense, picking up ten kills. Fisher got some help from Kaydence Sheppard and her ten assists. Addyson Taylor controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Despite the loss, Nitro saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zoe Hyatt had 14 digs. With that strong performance, Hyatt is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Miley Mullins, who had five kills and three digs.

Ripley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Nitro, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Ripley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Woodrow Wilson on the 20th. As for Nitro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against St. Albans on the 18th.
