Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Ripley Vikings (Ripley, WV) and the host Nitro Wildcats (Nitro, WV), observed Ripley's volleyball team hold off Nitro by a count of 2-1.

The Vikings (11-5) will now prepare for their contest against Woodrow Wilson (Beckley, WV). The Flying Eagles go into the non-league battle with a 9-3 record. In their last battle, Woodrow Wilson tipped Capital (Charleston, WV), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Wildcats now own a 5-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Albans for a non-league battle on Thursday, September 18.
