The Winters Warriors will face off against the Wheatland Pirates at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Winters will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Saturday, then bounced right back against Armijo on Monday. The Warriors blew past the Royals 12-2. Considering the Warriors' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Jordan Calvert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tracy Kalish, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Joe Hawkins, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Wheatland put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Oroville get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Pirates have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brodey Stidman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Brodee Malecha was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan James, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Wheatland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oroville only posted an OBP of .167.
Winters' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Wheatland, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Winters has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wheatland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Winters might still be hurting after the 11-4 defeat they got from Wheatland in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
