The Sesser-Valier Red Devils lost against the Webber Trojans back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Sesser-Valier was dealt a 66-35 loss at the hands of Webber. While losing is never fun, Sesser-Valier can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 565th, while Webber is ranked 145th).
Webber's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nikkos Ulm, who scored 15 points. The matchup was Ulm's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Fleener, who scored 15 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Sesser-Valier and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Webber, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sesser-Valier will be home for the holidays to greet Zeigler-Royalton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Webber will be home for the holidays to greet Edwards County at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
