The Jordan Red Jackets will face off against the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jordan knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully St. Anne-Pacelli likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, everything went Jordan's way against Spencer as Jordan made off with a 13-1 victory. The Red Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.
Brody Catlin made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.
In other batting news, Chase Scott was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. John Dollar was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, St. Anne-Pacelli was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out Columbus 9-7.
Billy Smith tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaycob Veloz, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Braden Hudson, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
St. Anne-Pacelli always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Columbus only posted an OBP of .382.
Jordan's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jordan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Anne-Pacelli struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
